wow, the memories

This was something I created for my sister's pillowcase last year for her 21st birthday. Wow, memories huh? I went through this whole phase last year of drawing on little faces on normal objects, food and fruit for a month or two. Can you believe I drew all this without a drawing tablet? haha I guess I was pretty skilled with a mouse, very fussy though. I'm pretty sure if I dig in deeper into my pictures folder I'll find more of what I created last year. It's funny because recently Pauline showed me something similar to this creation of mine on deviantart, and stated that was so what I would create lol.

newspaper collage

http://www.jeanee.net/KC-ATC/TUTORIAL/STYLES/pbrigitte.jpg
I reckon this looks pretty awesome, something that I want to incorporate into my photo essay for the white background and have a printed text sticker for the titles of each photo. Hard to explain, but I know what I want :) // Going to paint colour directly on random pieces of newspaper, scann scannn. I love my scanner.
Do you read Frankie ?
I recently purchased frankie's may/june issue and so far, it's been an interesting read, as per usual. I came across something interesting, and that was the impossible project. Why is it interesting? it concerns the production of the development of alternative film for polaroid cameras, so YES INTERESTING :)

I only received my polaroid camera last year as a birthday gift, and to hear that the production of film has halted, kinda, pretty much, devastated me. I seriously loved the instantanious of the film, the unique and original outcome of each one :) and especially how it can not be replaced, only scanned copies can be utilised if anything. It's my first analog camera, and my album of polaroids is filling up, and hopefully it will be filled up 100%, what with this impossible project taking action! OH I LOVE MY POLAROIDS <3

The use of ribbons and name tags

I heart ribbons
To further personalise each of the colours to their model, I'm planning to make the photos into a collage, with the addition of ribbons and handwritten nametags. So far I've got Freda to write hers, and it looks pretty cool. I've scanned all the coloured ribbons that I have at home (plenty!) Perhaps I might even paint colour onto newspaper (we all know how much I love scanning newspaper cutouts!) :)

Colour me pretty!

As big and bold as this umbrella is, I love it, I LOVE IT!
The colours are awesome, though I don't know if I would use it when it DOES rain, perhaps on the desperate occasion if I don't have any other umbrella and it's raining cats and dogs. I don't think I've ever used that term before (LOL) Anyway/
IDEAS for PHOTO ESSAY:
- I'm thinking of photo montage, where I scan in different colour materials that I could add to the colour photos of each model and their colour i.e. ribbons, painted newspaper
- Individual Name tags and their own handwriting, their name,
'colour' defines me - Colour meaningful text e.g. for Green: I'm growing at my own pace/ something that would suit the colour to the individual
- Colourisation of each photo, grey/black/white/colour

The red heart frame for colour Red - symbolises the love is a gift

red scarf - just a red item that I had at home

ideal butterflies that I wanted for my purple photograph with Kelly

Orange little people - however I'm thinking against using these lego people, instead I would edit toy people into the photo, since these lego people aren't exactly what I'm looking for

a blue head band, that I might use for the blue photo, to give Pauline more of a blue personality, besides the use of the blue umbrella

Practice Photo Shoot on 6th May
Last Wednesday I took Paul's DSLR camera to uni, and bought a whole lot of other props i.e. my white letters, blue umbrella as well. Can you imagine how much I was carrying?! Though, it was all well concealed into my DOMO-KUN bag, but it was freaking heavy. ANYWAY, regardless with how much I had to carry around the whole day, my practice photos turned out awesome, and enlightening. Being able to practice shoot with my chosen models, really gave me the idea of how my project would look like in the end. It gave me other ideas to implement and work on i.e. such as lighting, where the photo should be taken, at what angle etc.
Thankyou to my friends at uni for being such good sports on the day :) I'm planning my REAL photo shoot this week, on Tuesday/Wednesday. Can you imagine how MUCH I would be carrying?! It would be worth it though. (y)
